Educating Through Eighth Grade
Educating students through eighth grade allows First Baptist Academy to focus deeply on one of the most formative seasons of a child’s development.
We help students navigate the transition from childhood to adolescence by supporting their spiritual, intellectual, physical and emotional growth. During these pivotal years, students are known, challenged and equipped to grow in confidence, character and independence as they prepare for what comes next.
KNOWN & LOVED
A small student-to-teacher ratio helps create a close-knit environment where students are truly known and deeply loved. This sense of continuity and connection carries from early childhood through lower and middle school, allowing teachers to support each student academically, socially and personally. As students grow within a community that knows them well, they build confidence, resilience and a stronger sense of belonging.

LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Leadership development begins well before middle school as faculty help students recognize and grow their unique, God-given gifts through academics, athletics and the arts. As students mature, they take on meaningful leadership roles as chapel leaders, athletics team captains and student ambassadors.
Programs such as Warrior Crew also give middle school students opportunities to mentor lower school students, strengthen relationships across grade levels and lead through service.
INTENTIONAL HIGH SCHOOL PLACEMENT
By eighth grade, FBA students have developed a stronger understanding of their strengths, learning styles and interests, giving them a meaningful voice as their families consider what comes next. Because students are known well throughout their middle school years, the high school search can focus on finding an environment where each student is positioned to continue growing and thriving.
FBA’s middle school counselor partners with students and parents throughout the high school placement process, providing personalized guidance as families research schools, consider options and navigate applications. Along the way, eighth grade students gain valuable experience through admissions interviews, essay writing and participating in an important decision about their future.
This preparation is an important part of Life Beyond FBA, helping students leave eighth grade with greater confidence, self-awareness and readiness for the next chapter of their educational journey.
