After graduating from First Baptist Academy in 2007, Priya went on to attend Houston Christian High School, where she made many good friends with whom she pursued a variety of interests: basketball, tennis, Student Council, and lead a group of students on a backpacking trip in China. After high school, Priya enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin as a double major in Biomedical Engineering and Plan II Honors. Throughout her college education, she participated in intramural sports, undergraduate research, and professional societies. During the summers, Priya interned with Stryker Endoscopy, a leading biomedical device company, in San Jose, California – first as a Research and Development intern and then as an Operations intern. After successfully completing her second internship, she was offered a full time position to move to California and work for Stryker Endoscopy as a Process Quality Engineer. Priya has been working in this role and absolutely loves it. She says that life in the Bay Area has been nothing short of incredible. In her role, she works to improve the quality of the products and processes alike as well as develops new ways to improve. During the week, Priya says her work is challenging, fast-paced, and engaging. On the weekends, she tries to experience the variety of outdoor activities that the Bay Area and its surrounding regions have to offer. Over the past year, she has been hiking in the snow of Yosemite National Park, skiing at Heavenly, kayaking with sea otters in Monterey Bay, jet skiing on Lake Tahoe, and swimming in the ocean at Carmel. Although Texas will always be her home, she has been very blessed to be able to spend this time working for an amazing company in California.
