Technology Support Specialist

Position Overview

The purpose of this role is to support the school, staff and students in a multi-platform environment. This is a full-time, 12 month position and reports to the Director of Technology and System Administrator. The Technical Support Specialist’s role is responsible for providing all areas of computer related technical support including installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of staff, teacher, student and classroom computers, peripherals and application software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide front-line technical support for all computer hardware, software, operating system and network related issues.
  • Assist System Administrator in deploying new computers to students and staff
  • Software support (ie. Microsoft Office, Windows, Outlook, Google Suite)
  • Maintain Help Desk ticketing system
  • Maintain database asset inventory of all network devices using inventory software
  • Support Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform for iPad program
  • Manage audio-visual resources for classrooms, (video projection systems, interactive white boards, DVD players and sound systems.)
  • Ability to plan and research hardware/software/network related projects to evaluate new technologies and attend training sessions and seminars to further knowledge
  • Attend professional workshops and conferences
  • Perform other duties as assigned – Assistance will be expected at occasional events outside of core office hours (i.e. Open House, FBA Day, Auction etc.)


Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze and resolve technical issues for all computer related matters quickly
  • Working knowledge of operating in Microsoft Windows 10 (Mac OS a plus)
  • Basic knowledge of wireless networking and configuration
  • Motivated, self-starter able to work in a fast-paced school environment with multiple projects and changing priorities.
  • Ability to work with users of varying technical expertise.
  • Maintain effective, appropriate and timely communication within the Technology Department, administration, faculty, staff, students and vendors
  • Strong written, communication, and organizational skills


Training and Experience:

Technical Associate’s Degree preferred or equivalent years of experience. Prior experience in a school environment is a plus.

Immediate Opening | Lead Toddler Teacher

Key Responsibilities

This specific position is a full-time position with benefits, Monday-Friday from 6:45AM-2:45PM. The ideal applicant should have experience as a Teacher in a Licensed Child Care Facility with children ages Infant - 5 years old. The applicant must be an active Christian, nurturing, love being around children, and be able to relate to them.

Required Qualifications

  • Candidate must be in good health with the physical stamina and agility to work with children.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Have the ability to sit frequently on the floor with children, stand for periods of 30 minutes, walk at a steady pace, and bend at the knee and squat while attending to the children's bathroom needs.
  • Needs to work well in a team environment alongside two assistants as well as with the Director of Early Childhood and Office Administration.
  • Must accrue at least 24 hours of training in applicable areas of each child development studies.
  • Keep up with current developments in education by voluntarily attending professional meetings, working on advanced degrees, etc.

Primary School Part-Time Assistant

The Primary School Part-Time Assistant position is Monday-Friday from 12:00-6:00PM.

Encore Staff

Position Overview

First Baptist Academy is seeking Encore Staff to join our 2019-2020 school year team. This role is a part-time position that oversees the students that must remain on campus after school is out until their parents are able to pick up the students. The hours of the position are from 2:45PM-6:15PM from the first day of school through the last day of school (9 1/2 months). Holidays are consistent with the school calendar.

Key Responsibilities


  • Supervise the children involved in the Encore program.
  • Follow the schedule of each grade level and oversee homework time, snacks, and playground, gym, and classroom time. Takes daily attendance.
  • Assist with all minor medical emergencies after 4:00PM. Notifies parents if further medical attention is necessary.
  • Serve snacks to students.
  • Respond to the direction of the Encore Director.
