Middle School English Teacher

First Baptist Academy, serving students infant through eighth grade, is seeking a full time Middle School English Teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. FBA offers a supportive, collegial environment, and asks educators to encourage students to challenge themselves academically, while growing in moral development rooted in a relevant Biblical Worldview.

Teacher Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate knowledge of planning and implementing effective teaching strategies for all students
  • Communicate with parents during school year through regular correspondence and portal postings
  • Engage with team members through collaboration and shared interest in being a member of the full community
  • Pursue professional development
  • Actively engage in student life
  • Adhere to the Faculty and Staff Handbook through commitment to high professional standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school; teacher certification
  • Preferred experience in teaching middle school students (grades 5-8)

First Baptist Academy, serving students infant through eighth grade, is seeking a full time Middle School Spanish Teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. PreK4 Classroom Lead Teacher

Teacher Responsibilities

  • Curriculum planning, implementing instruction, and executing effective classroom management strategies for PreK students.
  • Utilizing workstations and ActivBoard regularly in lessons.
  • Communicating with parents during school year through regular correspondence, electronic gradebooks, and maintaining class pages on the website.
  • Working closely with grade level team members, specialists, administrators, and other colleagues to ensure that all students make academic and social progress in accordance with FBA’s mission and core values.
  • Actively involved in pursuing professional development in course preparation and implementing technology initiatives in the classroom.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach the class assigned according to prepared lesson plans.
  • Assists administration by being observant and supervisory at all times to care for the safety of students, their good conduct and well-being of buildings and equipment.
  • Attend Faculty meetings.
  • Respond to directions of the Principal and other personnel with delegated authority.
  • Actively engage in student life.
  • Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school and TEA certified.
  • Excellent Christian character and a proven record of outstanding classroom performance.
  • FBA is a Licensed Childcare Facility in the State of Texas and a Background Check and Fingerprinting are required. Experience in a licensed childcare facility is a plus.

Primary School Part-Time Assistant

Key Responsibilities

This specific position is Monday-Friday from 12:00-6:00pm.The ideal applicant should have experience with children ages Infant through 5 years old. The applicant must be an active Christian, be nurturing, love children and be able to relate to them. Must be in good health with the physical stamina and agility to work with children. Be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Must be able to sit frequently on the floor with children, stand for periods of 30 minutes, walk at a steady pace, and bend at the knee and squat while attending to the children's bathroom needs. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere, accepting instructions and assignments from the classroom Lead Teacher and/or Director as needed. Must accrue at least 24 hours of training in applicable areas of each child development studies. Must keep up with current developments in education by voluntarily attending professional meetings, working on advanced degrees, etc.

Encore Staff

First Baptist Academy is seeking Encore Staff to join our 2019-2020 school year team. This role is a part-time position that oversees the students that must remain on campus after school is out until their parents are able to pick up the students. The hours of the position are from 2:45PM-6:15PM from the first day of school through the last day of school (9 1/2 months). Holidays are consistent with the school calendar.

Key Responsibilities


  • Supervise the children involved in the Encore program.
  • Follow the schedule of each grade level and oversee homework time, snacks, and playground, gym, and classroom time. Takes daily attendance.
  • Assist with all minor medical emergencies after 4:00PM. Notifies parents if further medical attention is necessary.
  • Serve snacks to students.
  • Respond to the direction of the Encore Director.
