PreK Lead Teacher
Position Overview
First Baptist Academy is seeking a Pre-Kindergarten Lead Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. The PreK Lead Teacher position is a full-time position with benefits. The ideal candidate is an active Christian who is certified to teach Early Childhood Education in the state of Texas. This position is for a PreK 4 class.
Key Responsibilities
- Diligent in curriculum planning, implementing instruction, and executing effective classroom management strategies for elementary aged students.
- Communicate with parents during school year through regular correspondence, electronic gradebooks, and maintaining class pages on FBA’s portal system.
- Work closely with grade level team members, specialists, administrators, and other colleagues to ensure that all students make academic and social progress in accordance with FBA’s mission and core values.
- Utilize effective small group instruction and literacy/math workstations.
- Embrace the use of technology to improve the quality of the education delivered to students.
- Pursue professional development in course preparation and classroom technology initiatives.
- Engage in student life, helping each student find his/her place in God’s unfolding story.
Required Qualifications
- Display authentic Christian character and a desire to work in a Christian environment
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, TEA certified school
- Texas teacher certification
- At least two year’s full-time teaching experience preferred
- FBA is a Licensed Childcare Facility in the State of Texas and a Background Check and Fingerprinting are required. Experience in a licensed childcare facility is a plus.
- Excellent writing skills and very strong verbal communications skills
- Expected to be a positive member of the professional faculty team in a highly collaborative and rigorous environment

Cheer Coach
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee 7th and 8th Grade cheer team
- Stipend seasonal position
- Plan and teach weekly dances and cheers for team
- Manage team on sidelines during all football games

Substitute Teacher | Primary, Lower, Middle School
Position Overview
The substitute teacher position maintains the classroom atmosphere of orderliness and respect exhibiting professionalism and maturity through the unknowns of daily classroom routines and subject content. This is a part time position that varies in hours as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrive promptly at 7:15AM
- Cover the teacher’s assigned duty (early morning drop off, lunch duty, carpool), when applicable.
- Read and review all teacher notes, preferably ahead of time, if possible.
- Take attendance
- Have students show respect, participate, and stand for the morning announcements, prayer, and pledge.
- Follow class schedules and times on task, as provided.
- Replace teacher materials in drawers or shelves provided.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness and safety.
- Provide proper supervision at all times, insuring the health and safety of students.
- Display appropriate love and justice for all students.
- Keep all students on task, making no allowance for foolishness, and holding students accountable for their choices.
- Finish the day, checking off all teacher-expected work.
- Give feedback to the teacher by making notes of things that were important: discipline matters, student concerns, and incomplete work for any subject, etc.
- Ask for help when needed.

Primary School Assistant | Part-Time
Position Overview
First Baptist Academy is seeking a Part Time Assistant to join the Primary School team. The Primary School Part-Time Assistant position is Monday-Friday from 12:00-6:00PM. The ideal applicant should have experience with children ages Infant through 5 years old. The applicant must be an active Christian, be nurturing, love children and be able to relate to them.
Required Qualifications
- Candidate must be in good health with the physical stamina and agility to work with children.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
- Have the ability to sit frequently on the floor with children, stand for periods of 30 minutes, walk at a steady pace, and bend at the knee and squat while attending to the children's bathroom needs.
- Needs to work well in a team environment alongside two assistants as well as with the Director of Early Childhood and Office Administration.
- Must accrue at least 24 hours of training in applicable areas of each child development studies.
- Keep up with current developments in education by voluntarily attending professional meetings, working on advanced degrees, etc.

PreK3-Kindergarten Art Teacher | Part-Time
Position Overview
First Baptist Academy is seeking a part-time Art Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. This position will teach art to PreK3 through Kindergarten students. The ideal candidate is an active Christian who is certified to teach Early Childhood or Art in the state of Texas. If desired, this part-time position may be combined with the Part-Time PreK3 through Second Grades Technology Teacher position for additional part-time hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Diligent in curriculum planning, implementing instruction, and executing effective classroom management strategies for early childhood aged students.
- Create lesson plans based on current Texas PreK Art Guidelines and TEKS for Bridge and Kinder.
- Communicate with parents during school year, as needed.
- Maintain art storage closets, cabinets, and inventory supplies.
- Upload students’ work to the Artsonia digital art gallery.
- Assemble fall and spring art show in collaboration with the music teacher (BK & K only).
- Work closely with grade level team teachers and administrators to ensure that all students develop a love for art while developing their fine motor skills using different art mediums.
- Pursue professional development in course preparation and classroom technology initiatives.
- Engage in student life, helping each student find his/her place in God’s unfolding story.

Encore Staff
Position Overview
First Baptist Academy is seeking Encore Staff to join our school year team. This role is a part-time position that oversees the students that must remain on campus after school is out until their parents are able to pick up the students. The hours of the position are from 2:45PM-6:15PM from the first day of school through the last day of school (9 1/2 months). Holidays are consistent with the school calendar.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the children involved in the Encore program.
- Follow the schedule of each grade level and oversee homework time, snacks, and playground, gym, and classroom time. Takes daily attendance.
- Assist with all minor medical emergencies after 4:00PM. Notifies parents if further medical attention is necessary.
- Serve snacks to students.
- Respond to the direction of the Encore Director.

Physical Education Teacher
Position Overview
First Baptist Academy is seeking a Physical Education Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. The Physical Education Teacher is a full-time position with benefits. The ideal candidate is an active Christian who has a background in physical education
Key Responsibilities
- Teach PreK-8th grade PE classes.
- Curriculum planning as well as develop effective lesson plans to teach physical education appropriate to the age or grade level.
- Teach cognitive concepts about motor skills and fitness.
- Work closely with classroom teachers to help students gain greater understanding of material.
- Teach a few health or fitness related sessions in lower school classrooms.
- Actively pursue professional development in coaching and teaching movement skills.
- Coach Athletic teams in Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons.
- Assist administration by being observant and supervisory at all times to care for the safety of students, their good conduct and well-being of buildings and equipment.
- Respond to directions of the Athletic Director and other personnel with delegated authority.
- Actively engage in student life.
- Observe and inform students of corrective measures necessary for skill and improvement.
- Instruct students on importance of regular amounts of appropriate physical activity now and throughout life.
- Assess the skill level of students and provide differentiated instruction for various ability groupings.
- Offer alternatives during classes to accommodate different levels of fitness.
- Explain and enforce safety rules governing sports, recreational activities, and the use of sports and exercise equipment.
- Maintain order among students.

- Confer with parents or guardians, teacher and administrators to report on students’ progress.

Required Qualifications
