LETTER FROM HEAD OF SCHOOL
Dear Warrior Parents,
A designated donation of $250,000 received this past summer has set into motion the renovation of our library. In order to achieve the library that aligns with our strategic plan, this initial gift must be supplemented by our Warrior network.
The Warriors Read to Lead Library Campaign consists of two main components in order to raise the additional needed funds of $150,000 in Spring of 2020.
- Leadership Giving – On the attached brochure you will find our vision for the project as well as numerous giving levels and recognition opportunities.
- Student Led Fundraising – Students are encouraged to leave their legacy on the library by setting their own fundraising and reading goals with an easy to use online fundraising platform.
We invite you to prayerfully consider being a part of this groundbreaking work that will push current and future Warriors to EXPLORE, CREATE, CHALLENGE and LEAD.
Serving Him,
Teresa Chambers, M.S., CPA
Head of School
FUNDRAISER FAQS
I thought FBA was given a gift, why are we raising more money?
The Warriors Read to Lead Library Campaign began with a generous restricted donation of $250,000. This donation prompted us to move forward strategically to modernize the current library into a 21st century learning space.
Our library committee poured ideas into the project along with the Merriman Holt Powell, architects and Brookstone Construction, the contractor. The final rendition is resulting in an estimated cost higher than the aforementioned donation. Therefore, we are seeking additional donations to supplement the initial gift.
How can I help?
Email our Librarian, Donna Hester, to get involved by volunteering in prepping the library for renovation. You can also help by donating online.
If the $150,000 goal is exceeded, where does that money go?
Gifts received after our goal of $150,000 is met will be considered unrestricted gifts and will be used for strategic initiatives for the school.
What is the timeline of the renovation project?
We are estimating that the library renovation will be completed by the start of the 2020-2021 school year.
What is the difference between Student Led Fundraising and Leadership Giving?
Student Led Fundraising is designed as a peer-to-peer campaign where each student sets a fundraising goal and a number of pages/books goal. The student will ask their personal network for sponsors to help them reach their goals.
Leadership Giving encompasses the FBA network's financial contributions beyond the Student Led Fundraising campaign. This includes significant gifts from corporations and foundations.
MATCHING DONATIONS
DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT by checking with your employer about Matching Gifts! A matching gift is a gift from a corporate or community employer that parallels your gift to a charitable cause. Many employers match gifts to educational institutions such as First Baptist Academy. Contact your human resources office for matching gift information.
