Warrior Week Wrap-Up: Faith, Leadership, Learning and Community at FBA
It was a full week at First Baptist Academy, from welcoming prospective families to student-led prayer, chapel, cross-grade friendships and theatre. Here are a few highlights from this week at FBA.
Current & Prospective Families Explore Kindergarten at FBA
We kicked off the week on Monday by welcoming prospective families to our first Kindergarten Preview of the admissions season.
Kindergarten Preview gives families an opportunity to visit classrooms, meet educators and learn how our kindergarten program combines joyful learning with foundational skill-building in a Christ-centered environment.
Additional Kindergarten Previews will be held on October 26 and December 10, giving families more opportunities to experience kindergarten at First Baptist Academy firsthand.
Student Council Leads See You at the Pole
Before the school day began on Wednesday, students and families gathered around the flagpole for See You at the Pole, a student-led time of worship and prayer.
See You at the Pole is a global day of student prayer held annually on the fourth Wednesday in September. The student-initiated, student-organized and student-led gathering began in 1990 and has grown to include students praying together on school campuses around the world.
At First Baptist Academy, Student Council led our Warrior Family in lifting up our students, families, teachers, school and nation in prayer. It was a meaningful way to begin the day by turning our hearts toward God together.
Middle School Chapel Explores What It Means to Live "IN THE TRUTH"
In middle school chapel, students heard from a panel of FBA teachers who answered questions centered around our school theme, "IN THE TRUTH," based on John 8:31-32 and Hebrews 11:1.
Panelists shared about their faith journeys, perseverance and what it means to abide in God's Truth. The conversation gave students an opportunity to hear how faith shapes the lives of the teachers who guide and invest in them each day.
Youngest Warriors Bring Genesis to Life
Bridge kinder and kindergarten students took the chapel stage for their Creation Pageant.
After several weeks of studying Genesis 1:1-2:3 during Bible time, students shared what they had learned by reciting Scripture and singing songs celebrating God's creation. The pageant gave students an opportunity to bring classroom learning to life while sharing it with parents and fellow lower school students.
CREW Buddies Reconnect
Middle school CREWs also met with their lower school buddies for the first time this school year.
Students spent time getting to know one another, reconnecting with familiar faces and building new friendships. Through these buddy relationships, middle school students practice listening, encouraging and leading while helping lower school Warriors feel seen and included in the First Baptist Academy community.
Theatre Students Take the Plunge
The week also brought an exciting milestone for our middle school theatre arts students as they wrapped up auditions for the spring production of Finding Nemo JR. and learned the cast list this Thursday.
Over the past few weeks, students have stepped outside their comfort zones, tried something new and shared their talents through the audition process. Now it is time to "just keep swimming" as the cast begins preparing to bring the production to life this spring.
This Is the Warrior Experience
From welcoming prospective Warriors to watching current students worship, lead, create and build relationships, this week offered a glimpse into the everyday experience at First Baptist Academy.
Students are challenged to grow academically, spiritually and personally while discovering their gifts, building meaningful relationships and learning to explore, create, challenge and lead.
And sometimes, one week tells quite a story.
