Technology plays a significant role in our Middle School. Beginning in 5th Grade, parents purchase tablet PC’s for their student to use at school and at home. Students can use their laptops for everything from note-taking to producing multimedia projects. The goal of our 1:1 program is to allow students the use of technology and to develop the 6 C’s of 21st century learning: critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity, cross-cultural competency, and character.
The visual arts program in our Middle School presents students with a host of opportunities to create. Students receive instruction in multiple areas, including drawing, mixed media, mosaic, painting, pottery, and sculpture. More info here! The counselor works closely with the Middle School Principal to review the academic "At Risk” reports which are maintained by the school Registrar and to communicate regularly with the teachers and CAS Staff about which students seem to be struggling and what can be done to aid and support them. The counselor also communicates with parents via email and phone about students’ progress and challenges and can setup and facilitate parent/teacher conferences.
Middle School participates in the Warriors Serve Program. The Warriors Serve program mobilizes our students to serve in their neighborhood, community, church body, and our school to meet the needs of others. Each grade level has a minimum hour requirement to complete by the end of the school year. Some service opportunities are given in school, but also encouraged outside of the school day.
