Middle School Special Programs

Innovations is our pull-out program for talented and gifted students and is designed to offer students the opportunity to learn creative methods to expand their problem-solving skills. Students qualify for this program based on their standardized test scores, report card grades, a writing sample, and teacher recommendations. Our Innovations teacher also integrates activities designed for talented and gifted students into our regular classroom instruction.

Students with average to superior intelligence who have specific deficits in perception and/or cognition may be accepted in the Discovery Program (NILD). In addition to regular classroom instruction, students receive 80 minutes of intensive one-on-one therapy per week. Sessions include a variety of techniques designed to stimulate and strengthen areas of weakness and develop a student's independence and responsibility in the classroom and life.
