Lower School Special Programs

Innovations is a gifted and talented program designed to offer students the opportunity to learn creative methods to expand their problem solving skills. Students qualify for the program based on their standardized test scores, report card grades, writing samples and teacher recommendations.

Lower School School students with average to superior intelligence who have specific deficits in perception and/or cognition may be accepted in the Discovery Program (NILD). Students remain in the classroom but receive 2.5 hours of intensive one-on-one therapy per week. Sessions include a variety of techniques designed to stimulate and strengthen areas of weakness. The goal of this program is to develop a student's independence and responsibility in the classroom and life.
