Lower School Activities

After-school classes and activities

After school classes are offered in art, gymnastics, Mad Science, karate, Boy/Girl Scouts, and piano. Team sports such as soccer, basketball, and baseball are available through Houston's First Baptist Church.

Grandparent's Day

Grandparents are invited to visit the classroom and enjoy lunch with their grandchildren.

Music programs

Music programs at each grade level will take place during the school year.

Private School Interscholastic Association

The Private School Interscholastic Association is an academic program designed to enhance student learning. Contest materials are integrated into the classroom curriculum to complement subject matter, as well as to enrich skills. Lower School students in second through fifth grade participate in contests including Ready Writing, Spelling, Math, Number Sense, Storytelling, Map Skills, Poetry Interpretation, Music Memory, and Art Appreciation. Students selected to represent our school will participate in the District Meet against other Houston-area private schools with the opportunity to advance to the State competition.

Literary Week

Literary Week focuses on a love of books and literature and encompasses Book Character Day. Guest authors share about writing and books and children are allowed to dress in accordance with the week's theme.
