First Baptist Academy is an early childhood development through 8th grade private college preparatory school in the Galleria area of Houston, Texas. FBA has an enrollment of approximately 450 students in its Primary, Lower and Middle Schools.

Full-time Athletic Director - Master's Degree with minimum 3-5 years teaching and coaching experience required. Administrative Certification preferred.

Executive Director of Advancement - Non-profit experience in both Development and Admissions. Minimum 3-5 years experience required.

Spanish Teacher for Middle School - Certification Required

Spanish Teacher for Lower School - Certification Required

School Nurse – Full time position.  Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing  and have a current nursing license through the state of Texas (R.N.).  Minimum of 5 years nursing experience – pediatric, emergency or school nursing experience preferred.  Current certification in CPR required.

*Responsible for the health and well-being of infants through 8th grade as well as the faculty and staff of First Baptist Academy.
*Able to render first aid to students or faculty members as deemed necessary while assessing the seriousness of the injury or illness. 
*Communicate with parents/guardians to report any changes in child’s health status. 
*Maintain a daily log of all clinic visits including student’s name, subjective complaint, objective findings, assessment and plan of action. (SOAP) 
*Inventory, order and maintain first aid supplies in the clinic. 
*Review, record and maintain immunization records in compliance with the state of Texas requirements and submit annual report.
*Collect and keep health information and emergency contacts on every student and staff member.
*Administer all medications in the school.  Obtain physician and parental permission forms for medications. 
*Plan and schedule staff development programs for CPR, AED training, First Aid, and BBP training.
*Perform vision and hearing screening, AN and  scoliosis screening as required by the state of Texas.  Complete and submit all required health reports to TEA/TDHHS. 

Full-Time Assistant-Toddler Room
The Full-Time Teacher has the responsibility of assisting the Lead Teacher of a toddler class with a maximum of 10 children age 15-19 months.  The Assistant Teacher is responsible to the Director of Early Childhood overall and to the Lead Teacher of the assigned room specifically. This specific position is Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:30pm. The ideal applicant should have experience with toddlers. The applicant must be an active Christian, be nurturing, love children and be able to relate to them. Must be in good health with the physical stamina and agility to work with children. Be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Must be able to sit frequently on the floor with children, stand for periods of 30 minutes, walk at a steady pace, and bend at the knee and squat while attending to the children's bathroom needs. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere, accepting instructions and assignments from the classroom Lead Teacher and/or Director as needed. Must accrue at least 24 hours of training in applicable areas of each child development studies. Must keep up with current developments in education by voluntarily attending professional meetings, working on advanced degrees, etc. Must follow all school policies and procedures.

Temporary Part-Time Assistant Teacher- Infant Room
The Part-Time Assistant Teacher has the responsibility of assisting the Lead Teacher of an assigned class with a maximum of 8 children age 6 weeks and older.  The Assistant Teacher is responsible to the Director of Early Childhood overall and to the Lead Teacher of the assigned room specifically. This specific position is Monday-Friday from 12-6pm. The ideal applicant should have experience with infants 6 weeks and older. The applicant must be an active Christian, nurturing, must love children and be able to relate to them. Must be in good health with the physical stamina and agility to work with children. Be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere, accepting instructions and assignments from the classroom Lead Teacher and/or Director as needed. Accrue at least 24 hours of training in applicable areas of each child development studies. Keeps up with current developments in education by voluntarily attending professional meetings, working on advanced degrees, etc. Follows all school policies and procedures. Our ideal candidate would be a college student seeking a part-time position in education.
