While Primary School students do not participate in competitive athletic programs, they are given daily opportunities for physical activity. Outdoor and indoor play areas provide a context to improve coordination and balance, as well as a setting where they can explore their strength, run, and play with their classmates.
Each week, a certified Gymboree instructor comes to First Baptist Academy's Primary School and shares with our infants and toddlers the Gymboree experience. Parents are welcome to attend. Please preview their website at www.Gymboree.com for other programs and activities. This program is provided for you at no additional cost.
Our older children experience the marvels of Stretch-n-Grow once a week. This physical education program teaches our twos, PreK3s, PreK4s, and PreK5s the importance of exercise and healthy eating. Preview their website at www.Stretch-n-Grow.com for more information. This program is provided for you at no additional cost.
Outside the classroom, Primary School students may choose to participate in several programs that help them develop their physical abilities:
Amazing Athletes is a developmental sports and fitness program for PreK3-PreK5. This fun-filled program supports brain development, gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and muscle tone. Every action-packed class is filled with a variety of sports and games with a weekly focus on the fundamentals of two of the following nine sports: soccer, hockey, football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, golf, tennis, or lacrosse. In addition to physical fitness, kids will develop self-confidence, sportsmanship, and team pride!
