Traditions

PRIMARY SCHOOL TRADITIONS

Throughout the year, Primary School children enjoy several cherished traditions. These cross-curricular activities integrate lessons from different subject areas to provide another fun and engaging way for students to learn.

Breakfast with the Shepherds

Infants-PreK5 students come dressed as angels, shepherds or wise men as they celebrate Christmas at a special breakfast with their parents and guest.

Christmas Program

Infants-PreK5 students present the message of Christ's birth in a musical program for their family and friends. The program allows students to express and share the truths they learn in Bible lessons in class.

Easter Egg Hunt

Toddlers-PreK5 students study the meaning and significance of Easter in class, and culminate the unit with an afternoon egg hunt.

Field Trips

After a unit studying many of God's amazing creatures, PreK4-PreK5 students visit the Bayou Wildlife Park in Alvin for an up-close look at exotic wildlife. A trip to a local theater to see a play allows students to watch words from a book come to life before their eyes. Finally, students continue their animal studies with a visit to the Houston Zoo for a day of learning and a scavenger hunt, too.

Promotion

Students in PreK4-PreK5 are promoted to Kindergarten in a ceremony celebrating their accomplishment followed by a luncheon in their honor for their family and friends.
