The Gifted and Talented (GT) program at First Baptist Academy is unique, offering enrichment programs for all students throughout the school year. The GT curriculum is customized for each student based on his or her gifts, interests, and learning styles.
In the Lower School, each grade from 2nd-4th has a special unit of study that focuses on a particular topic and provides a variety of learning opportunities.
Among the topics explored by Middle School students are the free enterprise system and the history of the stock market. They put their knowledge to use in the International Stock Market Game. Since ______, FBA teams have placed in the top three teams for our region.
Innovations is our GT program that offers specialized small group instruction for students in 1st-8th grades. The curriculum is based on current events (such as elections or the Olympics) and then springs into various fields of study such as space, physics, Greek/Latin, robotics, theater arts, engineering, and aeronautics.
Students must apply to participate in the Innovations program. The GT committee reviews the student's grades, conduct, achievement test scores and teacher recommendations when selecting students for the program. Since these class sizes are limited, students must demonstrate a love of learning and an eagerness to work outside the classroom.
